CONTROLLING THE AMOUNT OF DISINFECTANT
Halamid® is a powder disinfectant that can be easily and accurately dosed by the use of a spoon (included in some packing types).Due to the activity of Halamid® against microbes and pathogens the initital concentration of the Halamid® solution decreases in time. Thus there is an interest to check the concentration once in a while.
There are basically 3 types of equipment that can be used to measure the chlorine content.
- Strips: Chlorine can be easily measured using strips, like you can find from companies such as Hach: This gives you a rough indication if chlorine is still present at ppm level.
- Titration: this test gives an accurate result on the amount of chlorine at ppm level. An example is: Moreover titration test can be used in fresh as well as salt water.
- Electronically: electronic devices available in the market able to measure the exact chlorine levels are:
